An Introductory Message from Call2Recycle Canada’s Executive Director Joe Zenobio

Joe Zenobio 1x1.25-240x300-218x273-180x200-150x150As Call2Recycle grows its presence in Canada – reaching battery collection milestones year after year – we are excited to be launching our inaugural newsletter for government partners across Canada.  We have attracted the support of over 300 stewards and have diverted almost 8.5 million kilograms of batteries from Canada’s landfills since the program’s inception. Each quarter, this newsletter will provide updates on programs and initiatives, and showcase the great work our partners are doing to improve education and support to encourage battery recycling across the country.

In this issue, for example, you’ll find information on our partnership with Earth Rangers to promote battery recycling among students in and around Toronto. The program has been so successful that we’ll soon be expanding to educate students in British Columbia and Manitoba and we are looking at opportunities to expand in other provinces across the country.  You’ll also find a case study on the implementation of our program with WestJet.

I hope you’ll enjoy the content in this quarter’s newsletter. Please feel free to send me a note if there’s something you’d like to see profiled or highlighted, and thanks for your partnership and support.

Sincerely,
