Battery Collection Program Encouraged by Proposed Ontario Waste Reduction Act

TORONTO (June 12, 2013) — Call2Recycle® Canada, the country’s first and largest consumer battery stewardship program, supports the proposed Waste Reduction Act and Waste Reduction Strategy recently announced by Ontario Environment Minister, Jim Bradley.  This proposed policy would create a more open market, allowing organizations like Call2Recycle to build on their successful track record as an established, nationally-recognized battery collection program.

Appel à Recycler says Allo la Terre

In April, Appel à Recycler (Call2Recycle in Quebec) took part in back-to-back successful recycling awareness events organized by le Jour de la Terre Québec, the Quebec arm of Earth Day Canada. Painting the World Greener

In October 2012, Call2Recycle® engaged Laurentide Re-Sources Inc. to provide sorting services for our national battery recycling program. Founded in 1989 and owned by Société Laurentide since 2003, Laurentide Re-Sources is located in Victoriaville, Quebec and Springhill, Nova Scotia. The Victoriaville branch was contracted to sort and record batteries shipped from Call2Recycle collection sites and from municipalities across Quebec and Eastern Canada.
