Because the Call2Recycle program is free, King County has greatly reduced it’s budget for the costs of managing, shipping, disposing of and recycling the rechargeable batteries. We are saved the logistical as well as the financial burdens of handling these hazardous materials.
This program takes the next step and delivers a complete solution for keeping rechargeable batteries out of trash and repurposing them for new uses.
We have witnessed a favourable response from the people of Winnipeg since we began collecting with Call2Recycle in late 2011. Both the public and the library staff have great enthusiasm for this successful program.
There is a peace of mind that comes with the downstream recycling. We know the materials are being properly handled and responsibly recycled, and that is important to the overall goals of the Zero Waste Plan.
On behalf of Sarcan Recycling, I would like to commend and congratulate Call2Recycle on an absolutely amazing achievement. Since 1997, over 40 million kilograms of batteries have been recycled in Canada. What an amazing achievement! For the last two years, Sarcan Recycling and Call2Recycle have been in partnership and recycling batteries within Saskatchewan.
Battery collection is simple. Sending batteries back is uncomplicated and receiving new battery boxes is simple.
Call2Recycle and London Drugs are both committed to the responsible end of life management of used batteries. And they have been exceptional partners to ensure that batteries are kept out of the landfill and out of the environment and that they are truly recycled. Together, through our partnership, we have recycled over 650,000 kilograms of used batteries. Congratulations Call2Recycle on 40 million kilograms of batteries recycled since 1997. Here’s to another 40 million.
I like how convenient it is, the return address label is ready to go. I call and the box is usually picked up same day.
I do congratulate Call2Recycle on their milestone of reaching 40 million kilograms of batteries collected since 1997. We’ve been in partnership with Call2Recycle for the last couple of decades, collecting over 200,000 kg materials here at Kelowna Recycling. We’ve served the southern interior of all of BC, and in doing so, we found that Call2Recycle to be very collaborative, innovative and a pleasure to work with.
The shipping of empty and full boxes is paid for. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. It is great to have a way to recycle these batteries. I appreciate the reporting.
It is a very practical, simple, and ecological battery and cell recovery program. Call2Recycle is a reliable organization.
The idea that we recycle batteries contributes to the morale and pride at our location. Interaction with Customers and employees regarding the battery program is always positive. We often use it as a topic on our social media feed. It also fits our image as a clean, modern, forward-thinking establishment
In Peterborough, we are committed to sustainability and waste diversion initiatives. This innovative partnership with Call2Recycle has streamlined the process for responsible disposal of household batteries. I encourage all residents to learn about the program and take advantage of the many convenient battery drop-off locations, which include several City facilities. By working together, we can build a brighter future.
