About Us
Call2Recycle Canada
Call2Recycle Canada, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization—in accordance with the Canadian Not-For Profit Corporations Act and the BC Societies Act.—founded in 1997 to protect and preserve the environment with diversified battery recycling programs for household, e-mobility, and electric vehicle batteries.
The organization operates recycling programs for battery producers, retailers, municipalities and more across the country. From processing standards, collection, and reporting to environmental compliance, close to 400 members help bring our programs to life.

They include an updated overview of the program, new and potential recycling initiatives, collection numbers, a member list, and a statement of the organization’s financial position for the year.
2024 Annual Report
A SECOND CONSECUTIVE RECORD-BREAKING YEAR FOR CALL2RECYCLE
Canadians recycled 6.8 million kg of used batteries in 2024, a significant 17% increase over 2023, marking an incredible record in Call2Recycle’s history. This milestone helped the organisation surpass a remarkable 50 million kilograms of batteries collected since its inception in 1997.
Call2Recycle also successfully launched Recycle Your Batteries, Canada!, a new national awareness program led by Canadian soccer legend Christine Sinclair. The organization reached 15,000 battery collection sites across Canada, and launched a new program for household batteries in Nova Scotia, while securing the approval for its dedicated e-transport battery program in British Columbia.
To support this growth, Call2Recycle introduced North America’s first Smart Battery Containers and scaled its transport, sorting, and processing partner network to substantially increase the program’s efficiencies while reducing costs and supporting the Canadian economy.
